Ferrari to introduce first fully electric car by 2025
Automakers around the world are evolving by the day. Gas may be cheap, and we do not know what the future holds for us, which is why there has been an influx of electric cars in the automobile market. It is safe to say the world has followed in the footsteps of Tesla’s in a big way. Manufacturers like GM and Nissan have already started producing electric vehicles intermittently over the years, but 2021 promises more with a series of new vehicles from other big brands. The same as domestic manufacturing brands like Rivian. Ferrari is one of the leading automakers in the world. We are set for a new revolution in the automobile industry. As announced at an AGM shareholder meeting, CEO John Elkann made it known that Ferrari will reveal three new models over the next few months. In 2025, the grand reveal of the first fully electric Ferrari supercar will happen. What makes the unveiling so unique is that Ferrari will debut an SUV- for the first time. Ferrari will build its first entirely electric vehicle. As said by Elkann – it’ll be “everything you dream the engineers and designers at Maranello can imagine for such a landmark in our history”.
That will be another achievement in the coffin for Ferrari in the ongoing electrification strategy that has seen the manufacture of SF90 Stradale and the overhaul of the mesmerizing LaFerrari. He said, “our interpretation of these [EV] technologies both in motorsport and in road cars is a huge opportunity to bring the uniqueness and passion of Ferrari to new generations.” Although the details are vague, one can only expect the best from such a reputable brand. Apart from the proposal of those new models this year and the highly anticipated e-supercar in 2025, Elkann affirmed that in 2023, Ferrari would race again at Le Mans. Ferrari has won it nine times, the last one albeit in 1965 with a 250 LM when the competition was rife between it and a little-known outfit called ‘Ford’. “A race where so many great chapters in our motor racing history have been played out,” he added.
The CEO also set aside praise for their new driver-pairing in Formula One – Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr, who have already started making waves. He said, “They have already brought a great and positive new energy to the team”. A few weeks ago, the season opener at Bahrain saw both races, with Leclerc finishing sixth, Sainz Jr a respectable eighth.
What percentage number of cars will
be electric in 2025 Studies reiterated that electric cars would rise to 10% in the United States’ new-car market by 2025. Research carried out by the IHS Markit shows that a part of the country is already there. Electric vehicles have already gained support, evidenced by an increase in the number of registrations in 2020. Studies show that it has risen from 1.8% to 2.8% in December, 2020- a new record, and analysts project another 3.5% increase in 2021 and double digits by 2025. The purchase of new all-electric models aids this. Though electric vehicles’ registrations differ by region, they have already hit 4.8% in the West, and 11% in San Francisco, but at just 0.8% of the market in the Midwest in 2020, and 0.9% in the Southwest, according to the study. However, in the Northeast—where there are laws related to emission standards, California, electric vehicles reached as much as 1.6% market share. But it’s not as high as the Southeast, where electric vehicles’ registration represented 1.1%. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, which brought about economic woes, electric vehicles gained significant global market share in 2020. In 2030, EV sales are expected to have trumped gas- powered model sales, according to a recent analysis. According to the IHS Markit study, some regions have seen higher sales growth than others. For example, California New Car Dealers Association says its EV sales had grown from 4.6% in 2018 to 6.2% in 2020. The same as Hybrids which also sold more in 2020 than a plug-in hybrid. California comes first in the US when it comes to adopting electric cars due to strict laws regarding emissions standards, supportive policies, and incentives. They are leaps and bounds above the other states. Europe has also seen a growth in the adoption of electric vehicles but is considerably slower than America. Some countries are more receptive than others.
Why there are so few Ferraris made each year?
Ferraris are made under careful and exceptional conditions, and they are almost entirely made by hand, with the connection of each vehicle’s valve as the only automated process. The engine parts are assembled by hand under quality standards. This means it will take time before a Ferrari is assembled. It is a demanding job as attention is paid to detail.
How long does it take to charge an EV?
If you are charging at home, an EV can become fully charged overnight, while at public charging spots, an electric vehicle can reach 80% within 30 minutes. Although this can be tedious than filling up with petrol or diesel, it is more reliable as it will take you further than a gas car will ever take you, and recharging can offer a break anyway. There are over 30,000 public charge point connectors at over 12,000 locations in the UK, and these numbers keep increasing every year.
Charging at home offers comfortability and efficiency; it’s intelligent and flexible. You can charge at any time, and its schedule ensures that your car is ready whenever you want it. Also, its affordability means you can use Electricity when it’s cheapest to do so. If you decide to install a home charger, you will be glad you did.

Are electric cars expensive to run?
As is known, EVs run on electricity. So, petrol cars may be less expensive than electric cars because on average, electric cars cost around 4p per mile compared to a petrol car that costs 10p per mile according to average costs for electricity and petrol, and new car fuel consumption data from 2018. To reduce or keep costs as low as possible, you are expected to choose the best electricity tariff. This way, you save yourself some unnecessary hassle.
However, on the plus side, electric vehicles are a fantastic alternative to petrol cars. They are easy to run and maintain and have a low carbon footprint. What makes it the perfect option is its zero-emission, and it is projected that as early as 2040 in the UK, all cars must be electric because of that.
What is the range of an electric vehicle?
The range of an electric vehicle solely depends on the manufacturer and model. Nowadays, electric vehicles are made to suit modern demand. These cars are suited for most people’s journey. The implication is that you can charge your cars at home or work without disrupting your routine. The fastest way to charge your EV battery is to make use of fast chargers. They are available in motorway service car parks, petrol stations, more extensive shopping centers, and supermarkets. This fits smoothly your journey and makes traveling a worthwhile experience. Also, there are specific types of long-range electric cars available and suitable for different experiences.
Do electric cars break down more?
The answer is NO! The reason why they do not break down often is that they have lesser moving parts. Electric vehicles have fewer moving parts that cause less friction and, in turn, reduce wear and tear rate. This results in low maintenance cost, which comes as a piece of great news as its parts like a gearbox, clutch, exhaust, starter motor, and more are not expected. A good example is servicing a Nissan leaf which can cost as low as £159 per annum, while Tesla is considered expensive because of remote maintenance; it uses software updates to perform many servicing functions. Despite the brake system’s constant usage, there is still less wear and tear because there is regenerative braking.
Can you drive and charge an electric Ferrari car in the rain?
Many fear the connection between water and electricity, but electric vehicles are as safe as they come. You can comfortably drive or charge an electric car in the rain. Also, you can wash without the risk of electrocution. Ferrari EVs have been designed to drive through puddles safely and cope with challenging conditions like floods. For example, the Jaguar I-PACE has a wading depth of 500mm and has a safety system designed to deal with conditions that include flooding. Contact numberplateclinic for your unique number plate.
