When purchasing physical number plates, we are legally required to verify your identity and address and your entitlement to the registration number before we can manufacture the plates.

You will need to provide ONE document from Option 1 and ONE document from Option 2.

Option 1 :-  Proof of your name and address

Please provide one of the following:

• Utility bill (gas, electricity or water)
• Telephone or internet bill
• Council tax bill
• Bank or building society statement
• Photocard driving licence
• National identity card

Where applicable, documents should be dated within the last 6 months.

Option 2 :- Proof of entitlement to the registration

Please provide one of the following:

• V5C vehicle registration certificate (logbook)
• V5C/2 new keeper supplement
• V750 Certificate of Entitlement
• V778 Retention Document
• V11 tax renewal reminder or SORN notice
• V379 Temporary Registration Certificate
• V948 Number Plate Authorisation Certificate
• eV948 electronic authorisation certificate

How to send your documents

Once you have placed your order, we will send you clear instructions and a secure link showing you how to SEND the required documents to us.

Digital documents: If your document was issued to you electronically, such as a PDF bank statement or eV948, please provide the original digital file rather than a screenshot.

Paper documents: Where a document was issued as a paper original, we need to see the original document rather than a photograph, scan or photocopy.

Once we receive your documents, our team will review them and verify the information required for your order.

What happens to your original documents?

If you send us original paper documents, we will keep them securely while your order is being processed and return them to you with your completed number plates.

Your number plates and original documents will be securely packaged and sent to you together using Royal Mail Tracked delivery.

You will receive the relevant delivery/tracking information when your order is dispatched.

When submitting your documents, please include your order number and full name so we can match them to your order.

Why do we need these documents?

Registered Number Plate Suppliers are required to verify the customer’s identity and their entitlement to the registration before making number plates. The relevant document details must also be recorded.

These checks help prevent unauthorised plates from being produced for a registration that does not belong to the customer and help reduce the risk of registration-number cloning.

Buying plates as a gift?

That’s fine. Your proof of identity/address can be in your name, while the document proving entitlement to the registration can relate to the person who owns the registration.
