Illegal Parking Beware!
We came up with Sensors that Alert Wardens to test technology that will finally give them the upper hand when it comes to ticketing drivers. The system uses sensors buried in parking spaces, which notify wardens if cars are parked illegally. If the trial is successful, the technology could be introduced to allow wardens to identify where overstayers are parked without having to patrol the streets.
How To Operate With The Sensors That Alert Wardens in The UK
Wardens in the London borough of Westminster will test the system for the next eight weeks. At first it will be used to target non-disabled drivers who park in disabled bays. The council will issue disabled drivers with electronic permits that communicate with the parking sensors. The sensors notify a nearby “traffic marshal” if a car without a permit parks in a disabled bay.
Big brother is watching! What do you think will be the next steps in car parking enforcement technology?
